Workplace Wellbeing Workshops with Gemma Douglas
My Workplace Workshops are practical, engaging, and evidence-informed, offering teams simple yet effective tools to manage pressure, boost focus, and enhance emotional wellbeing. I help people regulate their nervous systems, reduce stress, and reconnect with themselves—using the science and power of the breath.
Participants walk away with a deeper understanding of how their breath impacts performance, resilience, and recovery—both at work and beyond. Through interactive sessions, I guide people to use their breath like a remote control for their nervous system—creating more calm, clarity, and control in real-time moments of stress.
Whether you're looking to support mental wellbeing, improve team energy, or build emotional resilience across your organisation, these workshops are a powerful way to invest in your people.

I am a Senior Sergeant within the NZ Police, based in Hastings. I had been following Gemma for a while on Instagram and I knew instantly that I wanted her to come and present a seminar, while we all know breath work is important for everyone, it is even more important for our staff who are facing high risk, complex situations daily. They are consistently in the fight or flight mode.
From the moment that I contacted Gemma, she was so accommodating, she responded almost immediately and we arranged for her to present a 1 hour seminar.
Fast forward to the day of the women’s collective event, we had close to 90 female staff there and Gemma got on stage straight after our Commissioner (this would be a hard act to follow for anyone!)
Wow! From the moment Gemma started speaking, she captivated the entire room. She led the staff through breathwork techniques specific to what our staff encounter around trying to get out of the fight or flight mode but she also explained the science behind the breathwork and why it is so important. She has given the staff the resources to use breathwork wherever and whenever they need it. I have already spoken to Gemma to present some further seminars for all staff as I believe it will change the way our officers react to heightened situations but also in their everyday lives.
Thank you so much Gemma, you are such a good human inside and out and what you are doing will truely change lives.
I have spoken to staff following the seminar and this is the feedback I received:
“Before today I was wondering why we were doing breathwork and didn’t think I needed this, how wrong was I! Just after doing a few of the techniques I felt calmer and more relaxed”
“My jaw was on the ground throughout the entire seminar”
“Who knew what breathwork could do!”
“I went home and put tape on my mouth when it came time to sleep, I am going to keep trying as I believe it made a difference”
“Can we get her to do a longer seminar next time? I was so intrigued and didn’t want her to stop.”

Our national team of early childhood teachers found immense value in Gemma's presentation and in the practical breathwork strategies that she shared. Gemma has an innate ability to connect with her audience - she has a positive energy and passion for her work that is infectious! Gemma made the science around breathwork easy to understand, and created many opportunities to put the theory into practice in engaging and interactive ways. Our team has left with a tool kit of resources and strategies to support them to incorporate breathwork into everyday life, for themselves and the children that they support. As early childhood educators, we know how important self-regulation is as a skill and we now understand the power of breath when it comes to supporting ourselves (and our children!) to find a state of calm.

Gemma’s professional and experienced approach provided practical breathing techniques backed up by evidence, delivered in a common sense approach. She provided our Hereworth staff with practical, well researched breathing techniques and knowledge which equipped us with the tools needed for personal breathing improvements and also confidence to share these techniques with our students. Gemma’s energetic, professional breathing workshop provided practical understanding backed up with research which gives all participants confidence to develop better breathing and better overall health.

Last night, our Sport Academy crew had the absolute privilege of taking part in a Breathwork for Performance, Focus and Recovery workshop with Gemma Douglas. The session was packed with practical tools to help us recognise our stress responses and use breath to shift into a calm, focused state - whether we’re on the field, in the classroom, or just navigating life. We learned how to match our breath to exercise intensity for better performance and how to use breathing techniques for recovery, sleep, energy, and emotional balance. It was so cool to understand the why behind each technique and know how to apply it in real time - especially during games, exams, or moments of overwhelm.
